Indonesian Ministry of Industry has published Regulation No. 1 of 2024, also known as "Ministry of Industry (MoI) Regulation No. 1/2024", which outlines the procedures for granting technical opinions for the import of steel, alloy steel, and their derivatives. The Regulation establishes certain rules and processes for the importation of steel, alloy steel, and their derivative products.

Importers can only import steel and alloy steel commodities under the MoI Regulation No. 1/2024 after receiving import approval from the Ministry of Trade. To acquire the aforesaid permission, the importer must first obtain a technical consideration or a technical consideration amendment from the Ministry of Industry
